Newark, New Jersey is where Janique calls home but she is not a stranger to North Carolina due to her family. Janique attended Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, Newark campus where she received her B.A. in English and Masters of Public Administration with a dual concentration in Non-Profit Management and Leadership of Public Organizations. Janique worked in Rutgers Newark’s LGBTQ and Intercultural Resource Center where she helped run various dialogue, workshop and identity-based programming and the Office of Student Life and Leadership where she advised student organizations and created leadership programming.
Janique is passionate about social justice, arts education, student engagement and making spaces that allow people to be their most authentic selves. Janique enjoys animals, cooking, hiking and spending time with friends and family. Janique’s life mission is to create little ripples of change wherever she goes.
