With a more intentional focus on encouraging participants to continue their education past their initial training, share resources, and develop resources and support in their individual units, departments and organizations.

No, Friendly Peer Training is only for UNC Charlotte students.

No, Sexuality & Gender Equity: Foundations is only for staff and faculty.

At this time we are unable to meet individual department request. When able to do so updates will be made here.

Unfortunately, we do not have the capacity to provide trainings outside of UNC Charlotte.

We encourage all faculty and staff who have not attended an IEE sponsored Safe Zone training since 2020 to attend the new Sexuality & Gender Equity: Foundations training. In addition to materials and resources being updated the foundations course is a prerequisite for future additional educational experiences.

While all past Safe Zone attendees are welcome to keep their Safe Zone email badges and door placards. New rebranded SAGE options will be available late 2022 spring semester. These new options will help guide folks to LGBTQ+ resources on campus. For inquiries about replacements please email sage-program@uncc.edu.

No. In hopes to encourage staff and faculty to continuously pursue sexuality and gender equity education here at UNC Charlotte a formal list will not be viewable to the public. Internal record keeping will be kept for attendance.

The Office of Identity, Equity, and Engagement will no longer be providing Safe Zone trainings.
